7,000 Lao children set to benefit from new education project

An education project benefiting 7,000 children will get underway this year which officials expect will improve school governance, assist with school readiness and develop basic literacy and numeracy skills among pre-school and primary school students. 
Called ‘Inclusive, Child-friendly Environments and the Improvement of the Quality of Learning Outcomes of pre- and primary schools in Vientiane and Oudomxay provinces’, Aide et Action Laos launched the 5-year, 8.5 billion kip (US$1 million) project on April 25 with the expectation that it will help alleviate some of the educational challenges the country faces.
